Indianapolis International Airport - IND

The Indianapolis International Airport, which opened a brand-new terminal in 2008, is the first new terminal designed and opened since September 11, 2001. And, befitting a new facility, it is winning awards on a regular basis.  In 2015, it won Best Airport in America for the 2nd year in a row from Conde Nast Traveler magazine.  It also Best Airport in North America for the 4th time in 5 years from Airports Council International.

Getting Around: With only two concourses (A & B) and a total of nine airlines servicing the airport, it’s not difficult to maneuver through the terminal. All gates are accessible from either concourse checkpoint.

Travel time from downtown Indianapolis is approximately 20 minutes by taxi.

Relaxing: Spend time wandering through Cultural Crossroads, a retail outlet which sells high-end museum merchandise – featuring arts, artifacts and gifts – from eight of Indiana’s museum gift shops.

As home to one of the most famous car races in the world, motor-racing enthusiasts can find a regular rotation of classic race cars on display from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Hall of Fame Museum.

DiningHarry & Izzy’s – located on Concourse A – is the best sit-down restaurant at the airport and has been included on USA Today’s Reader’s Choice list of Best Airport Food in the U.S. In February 2014 the eatery’s filet sliders were added to Indy Monthly’s Must Do list. We suggest you try the signature shrimp cocktail – with its freshly grated horseradish sauce – or the prime rib sandwich. Neither will disappoint.

Shapiro’s Kosher-style Deli has been feeding Indianapolis for 110 years and has twice been named to the Top Ten (Jewish) Delis in America. That alone speaks for itself. While the airport location has a limited menu, you can’t beat the corned beef and Swiss on rye or the homemade sauerkraut. Located in Concourse B.

Wi-Fi: Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the terminal.
